Professional Services Team

  • Dr. Timothy Jordan , DVM, MBA


    Dr. Timothy Jordan is Director of Services and a 1983 graduate of the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jordan grew up on a farm, practiced bovine medicine for the first half of his career but prefers the rewards of companion animal medicine with special emphasis on orthopedic surgery and medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation and canine sports medicine. Border collies are his passion and you'll find his dog Pete by his side on most days.

  • Dr. Alana Pavuk , DVM


    Dr. Alana Pavuk grew up in the coastal town of New Bern, NC, and went to Clemson University in Clemson, SC, for her undergraduate education. She graduated from veterinary school at North Carolina State University in May of 2009, and is excited to begin her career at Cross Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Pavuk has strong interests in ophthalmology, nutrition, and pathology, and loves treating animals of all shapes and sizes. For fun she enjoys running, hiking, kayaking, and playing with her two cats, Miles and Sawyer, and her Black Lab, Sadie. She also loves to travel, and recently got engaged while on vacation in Peru. Dr. Pavuk values a close working relationship with open communication between doctors, clients, and staff, to ensure the best care for her patients.

  • Dr. Amy Sanders , DVM


    Dr. Amy Sanders is a native of Texas and earned her doctorate from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Sanders joined our medical staff after an 11 year career in the Army Veterinary Corps on active duty and now serves in the United States Army Reserves. Dr. Sanders is passionate regarding internal medicine and oncology problems and their medical solutions in our dog and cat patients. As a marathon runner and Officer, Dr. Sanders, appreciates the commitment that excellent veterinary and patient care involves.

  • Dr. Kevin Monce , DVM


    Dr. Kevin Monce, a 1983 graduate of Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine, is board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine. He completed his residency at North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He assists the Cross Creek Animal Hospital medical staff on cancer and intensive care medical patients.


  • Lisa Wade-Wellington , RVT


    Lisa Wade-Wellington, is the Practice Manager and a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Lisa served 9 years on Active Duty and 6 years with the NC National Guard. Lisa is a graduate of Central Carolina Community College and graduated the Veterinary Medical Technology Program in 2003. Soon after graduation Lisa was deployed to Iraq with the 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team. When Lisa returned from Iraq she rejoined Dr. Jordan and his staff as the Head Veterinary Technician and has been with him ever since. Lisa became the Practice Manager of Cross Creek Animal Hospital in August of 2006. Lisa encourages the clients of Cross Creek Animal Hospital to call and talk with her if they have any concerns.

Patient Services Team

  • Anke Larcher-Mickens


    Anke Larcher-Mickens manages the veterinary technicians and assistants and coordinates the medical and surgical care of our patients. Her team ensures that all patients enjoy a high standard of care whether they're with us for wellness visits, surgery, or for medical care. Anke was born and raised in Stuttgart Germany and immigrated to the US in 1991. She has been working in the Veterinary field since 1992 and started her journey with Dr. Jordan and his staff in 2004. Anke says "What I do is what I love".  Anke owns a Pittbull and domestic shorthair kitty that she adopted from the clinic. Her favorite breed is the Pittbull because of their gentle and loving nature. Anke says it is a blessing and a pleasure to come to work everyday and know that she was able to help so many animals remain or get healthy.Vetsuite_Img_60915

  • Dawn Olsen


    Dawn Olsen and her staff of receptionists work to ensure that your experience on the phone, in the waiting room, and during check out is pleasant and stress-free. They will explain our Wellness Plans, Spay and Neuter Packages, and any promotions and specials to you to help you make informed choices about your pet's health care. Although Dawn is a  true lover of all animals, she has a special place in her heart for all Boxers. Mayhem (pictured), her Boxer of eight years, reminds Dawn constantly of the joys and challenges of living with an animal with an "Independent" spirit!  Dawn gets a great deal of pleasure out of helping Cross Creek Animal Hospital's clients (and their humans!), and has developed long term relationships with many of our furry friends over the years. Guest Services Team

  • Tanja Leonard


    Tanja Leonard manages the Boarding Facility. Coming to the States from Germany in 1992, she always had a soft spot for animals. Her Household consists of a husband of 18 Years, a son of 17 years, 11 cats,   2 turtles, and her pride and joy an Australian Shepherd named “Katie”. The joy of coming home from work every day and to be greeted with a bark or having the cats on your lap is the best reward. She wants each of our clients to be sure that their animals will be taken care of the same way she would take care of her own. She loves to take time with each of the animals and play and give them one on one time to make it easier on your pet when they are away from home and their family. Tanja welcomes you to come by, tour the facility and meet the team.

  • Annette Thompson


    Annette Thompson is our groomer and has groomed professionally for 15 years. Annette has lived with and owned Minature Schnauzers for 40 years but when asked her favoite breed to groom, she responds with, "Any well behaved pet with a nice coat!" Annette feels her greatest accomplishment in grooming is that she has past her love for the art along to her daughter Erica Wilson, who works with Annette as her Assistant and is learning to become a great groomer like her mother.
